Adult's Private Bicycle Lessons (1, 4, or 6 lessons)

$100.00 - $720.00

Are you ready to embrace the great outdoors on two wheels?
Are you ready to get out of your car and feel the wind rush past you as you ride through the park?
Do you need to brush up on your bicycling skills in a safe and supportive environment with a skilled and patient teacher?

Learn how to ride a bike with techniques that will give you confidence to get rolling safely!! We are experts at teaching new learners with experience, skill, and patience.

Your first Adult private lesson is 1 to 1.5 hours. If you order a package of 4 or 6 lessons, each subsequent lesson is 1.5 hours or less depending on the student. Many begin to ride independently in 1-2 lessons, but we recommend at least 4 sessions to develop and reinforce skills and safety awareness. All lessons in a package must be used within 90 days of package payment.

You may use your own bike and helmet or rent one of our bikes for $25, per session. Please confirm that your bike is a comfortable size and in working order, with the tires, brakes, and chain in working order. We may have some extra helmets if you don't have one by the first lesson. We highly recommend that you purchase your own helmet to commit to your bicycling journey (and for sanitary reasons).

Private lessons are convenient for your schedule, efficient, and effective. You will learn to balance, glide and then ride proficiently and safely.

We look forward to serving you!!

FAQ
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Your Own Bike - is it the right size? is it in good operation condition? (Rental Bikes are available for $25 per lesson)
Your Helmet (we may have spares just in case!)
Water Bottle - important as bike lessons are hard work!
BE PREPARED TO Sign Our Waiver - we will have you sign a Waiver & Release before or at the first lesson.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
This is important - as the wrong clothing can be a hindrance, frustration and even a danger when learning to ride. Students should wear closed toes sneakers (laces tied tightly!) and long socks or long pants/leggings. Socks or pants protect sensitive shins which tend to get bumped frequently by the pedals. Anything overly baggy (large basketball shorts, skirts ) can be a danger and a discomfort. In the cooler months, we suggest bringing a warmer layer like a sweatshirt or jacket that can be easily removed for managing changing temperatures. Ladies, please wear a hairstyle that easily works when wearing a helmet. Low ponytails work best.

HOW MANY LESSONS WILL I NEED TO START RIDING? +
As you can imagine, it varies bases on experience, fear, etc etc, but we typically find that most are riding in 1-3 lessons, and riding competently and confidently in 4-6 lessons- which is why we offer both 4 and 6 lesson packages. Remember that we are training you to be safe and confident cyclists- which goes beyond just being able to pedal in a straight line- often skills like stopping and safety awareness can take longer to develop.

HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY?
As of August 2019, we do require pre-payment for private lessons. If you are unsure which package to book, you may book and pay for a Single Lesson, and we will allow you to pay the difference between that and the package you select after the first session. All single a la carte lessons must be paid in full before scheduling the first lesson. Packages must be booked before any subsequent lessons. All lessons in a package must be used within 90 days of package payment. We prefer payment via CashApp ($ShaShaShines), Venmo(@Shakeesha), or PayPal ([email protected]). Please contact us at [email protected] to set up the time for your private lessons.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Stuff happens - and we get it! We just ask that you give us as much notice as possible so that we can attempt to book someone else in. A no show or cancellation with less than 24 hours notice will be counted as used towards your package of lessons.

WHAT IS YOUR INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY?
A little rain never hurt anybody and riding in the rain is fun ! That said, there are days where weather conditions are not safe for lessons and we will cancel in that case. We typically do not cancel for expected weather in advance as Atlanta can be sunny/stormy/sunny again all in the course of an hour! If we mutually agree on the day of the lesson that conditions aren’t feasible, or if we have to call off a lesson mid-way through, you won’t “lose” that lesson and the time will be made up. However, we would kindly ask you to stick to the 24 hour cancellation policy in the event the weather conditions are suitable for riding. It’s not fair to us or our other students waiting on lessons to cancel that day just for the threat of rain showers.

HOW DO WE BOOK THE NEXT LESSON?
We strongly recommend you book lessons 1-2 times per week when you purchase a package, as consistency is key to progress. Weekend spots fill first so book early for first choice!
Please contact us via email [email protected] about booking your lesson.

WHERE DO YOU TEACH THE BIKE LESSONS? We teach most of the beginners bike lessons in Atlanta at Brown Middle School, teacher's parking lot adjacent to the Westside Beltline. We only teach there while the school is not in session. It is an extremely low to no traffic area. After the student as gained enough skills, we can take our lessons over the the Beltline for real life training. If you would prefer to have sessions closer to your neighborhood, there is a $25 scouting fee(if necessary and a $35 fee/per session to come to your location within 30 miles of metro Atlanta.

WHAT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS DO YOU TAKE?
We use low-to-no traffic areas for lessons, within neighborhoods, parking lots and public spaces, and typically utilize extra hi-vis cones to enhance visibility in the teaching area.

If you are interested in semi-private lessons or guided educational rides with your group of 4 or more people, ask about our multiple student specials!

Looking forward to riding with you soon!
